Danley commits to Sooners

OU strikes again with its second commitment of the day, Jamal Danley.

It figured to be a big recruiting weekend for Oklahoma and most expected Scooba (Miss.) East Mississippi Community College offensive tackle Jamal Danley to be the first to pledge to Sooners.

He was beat by hours by Midwest City (Okla.) High safety Will Sunderland, but as predicted, Danley did indeed commit to the Sooners on Saturday night.

Danley, a three-star lineman, thought about committing to the Sooners last month. He had set the decision date and everything. But after talking to his family, he held off because he wanted to see the campus first.

He is seeing it this weekend and now knows Norman is the place for him. Danley sent out a tweet Saturday afternoon saying “I’m thinking Sooner,” which he later had to clarify it wasn’t a commitment.

There was no misinterpretation about his tweet after OU’s 34-10 victory against Tennessee when he said he had committed.

The addition of Danley gives OU 13 commits for the Class of 2015 and the fifth offensive lineman for Bill Bedenbaugh. The Sooners are still gunning for one more lineman and are in fantastic shape with the class five months before signing day.
