Jenks' DT stands out among Sooners 2015 commits this week

Before action begins Saturday with the Sooners, here’s a quick look at how the Sooners’ current field of commits and their teams performed this week:

Rodney Anderson, RB, Katy High School – Anderson and Katy play Seven Lakes at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Dru Samia, OL, San Ramon Valley High School – Aided by 26 straight points, San Ramon Valley beat Livermore, 33-10.

Cody Ford, OL, Pineville High School – Pineville was beat up on the ground, losing to Ouatchita, 27-10. Pineville’s lone touchdown game on a fourth-quarter, 77-yard, run-dominated drive despite a game at Pineville coach Robbie Martin told the Alexander Town Talk was “very disappointing.”

John Humphrey, WR, Clear Falls High School – After Clear Falls was forced to punt on eight of its 14 possessions, it was dominated by Dickinson, 35-7. Five other drive ended in turnovers as the Knights gained only 190 yards on offense.

Kenneth Mann, DE, Burleson High School – Bouncing back from a loss last week, Burleson routed Joshua in a weather-shortened, 43-0 victory. Mann and the defense helped pitched Burleson’s first shutout since 2007, limiting Joshua to 161 total yards.

Tyrell Jacobs, DE, Archbishop Rummel High School – Archbishop Rummel plays Archbishop Shaw at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Dominique Hearne, OL, Lancaster High School – Lancaster cruised past Red Oak, 35-0, to remain unbeaten at home.

P.J. Mbanasor, CB, Hendrickson High School – Hendrickson’s streak is finished. The Hawks hadn’t lost a district game since 2012, a span of 14 games, but were defeated, 38-35, by Stony Point.

Austin Seibert, K, Belleville High School-West – Seibert hit three extra points and 47-yard field goal as Belleville-West cruised to a 30-0 victory.

Marquise Overton, DT, Jenks High School – Homecoming was a resurrection of sorts for Jenks, which lost two of its first three games, as it shutout No. 2 Westmoore, 41-0. Overton finished with two sacks after being honored for his selection to the 2015 Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl during pregame.

Bobby Evans, OL, Allen High School – Allen is out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL but watched Allen win, 44-10, to remain undefeated.

Will Sunderland, DB, Midwest City High School – In a game delayed by weather, Midwest City won, 32-21.

Jamal Danley, OL, East Mississippi Community College – EMCC dominated Holes Community College, 49-0, to remain unbeaten on the season. The Lions averaged seven yards per carry.

Dalton Wood, TE, McAlester High School – Wood threw two touchdown passes but had a big fumble late as McAlester was upset, 27-26, by Skiatook. Wood fumbled in the final minute after McAlester recovered a late onside kick and was driving for the game-winning score.
