Oklahoma was on a bye, but the Sooners' commits sure weren't

Football doesn’t stop just because Oklahoma is on a bye week. Here’s a quick look at how the Sooners’ current field of commits and their teams performed this week:

Rodney Anderson, RB, Katy High School – Katy plays Strake Jesuit on Saturday night.

Dru Samia, OL, San Ramon Valley High School – San Ramon Valley stomped Granada, 41-14, scoring 34 consecutive points at one time. The Wolves rushed for 195 yards, averaging nearly six yards per carry.

Cody Ford, OL, Pineville High School – West Monroe made easy work of Pineville in a 42-14 victory. West Monroe had more points (28) at halftime than Pineville had total yards (22).

John Humphrey, WR, Clear Falls High School – Clear Falls has just one victory this season, and after falling to previously winless Clear Brook, 35-7, it remains winless in district play. Clear Falls has lots 35-7 in each of the past three weeks.

Kenneth Mann, DE, Burleson High School – In the worst loss of any Oklahoma commit this season, Burleson fell, 73-7, against Aledo, which scored at least two touchdowns in every quarter.

Tyrell Jacobs, DE, Archbishop Rummel High School – Archbishop Rummel will play Jesuit on Saturday night.

Dominique Hearne, OL, Lancaster High School – Lancaster outlasted top-ranked Mansfield Summit, 27-24, thanks to a late 93-yard touchdown drive. Lancaster scored with 1:44 to play to seal the victory.

P.J. Mbanasor, CB, Hendrickson High School – Hendrickson lost its chance at a third straight district title in a 49-7 loss to Round Rock, which won the district title for the first time since 1994. Round Rock scored 39 second-half points and held Hendrickson to a season-low 209 total yards.

Austin Seibert, K, Belleville High School-West – Seibert hit six extra points and a 42-yard field goal as Belleville West clinched a spot in the playoffs with a 45-24 victory against Alton. Belleville West scored 24 points in the first quarter.

Marquise Overton, DT, Jenks High School – It looks like the Trojans have shaken off their early-season woes. Jenks beats Broken Arrow, 33-14, for its fifth straight victory to take control of first place in 6AI-1. Overton and the defense forced a safety by Broken Arrow, which had won four straight, in the third quarter.

Bobby Evans, OL, Allen High School – Evans remains out for the year with a torn ACL, but Allen rolled Flower Mound, 63-17.

Will Sunderland, DB, Midwest City High School – The Bombers ran Choctaw off the field in a 35-14 victory. Midwest City ran for 355 yards on 60 carries and had 23 first downs. Choctaw had only 42 snaps on offense.
