Jacobs decommits from OU

Three-star defensive end Tyrell Jacobs says he is no longer committed to Oklahoma.

A day removed from the biggest day of the recruiting cycle for Oklahoma, the Sooners are losing one of their commits.

Metairie (La.) Rummel defensive lineman Tyrell Jacobs confirmed Saturday afternoon he has decommitted from OU.

Jacobs, a three-star recruit, committed to OU in July. He was supposed to take his official visit to Norman two weeks ago but was unable to because of his high school playoff game.

The loss of Jacobs puts the Sooners at 17 commits for the Class of 2015 and one defensive end in Burleson (Texas) High’s Kenneth Mann.

OU is in the hunt for several defensive lineman to close out the class, and Jacobs will certainly have no shortage of suitors going forward.

The Sooners had a monster Friday with the additions of five-star linebacker Ricky DeBerry and four-star safety Kahlil Haughton in a span of hours Friday.
