It’s all-star week coming up in recruiting, and Oklahoma is well represented in all three of the major all-star games.
Here is a look at OU commits and targets in the Under Armour All-America Game. The Under Armour game is 3 p.m. CST Jan. 2 in St. Petersburg, Fla., and will be televised on ESPN2.
Under Armour All-America Game
Dallas Skyline LB Anthony Wheeler
It could be a big day for the Sooners if OU is able to land Wheeler and Josh Wariboko. Both are expected to announce at the game itself. Wheeler has made several unofficial visits to campus but actually didn’t make an official visit to any school during the process. Texas is biggest contender with Baylor and LSU also in the mix.
Oklahoma City Casady OL Josh Wariboko
The one-time OU commit is down to three, and the Sooners are back in play. Wheeler surprised people by saying he was going to announce at the game earlier this week, but this has been the plan for Wariboko ever since his jersey ceremony. He knew it. He’s ready. He’s down to OU, Ohio State and UCLA.
Belleville (Ill.) West kicker Austin Seibert
The only OU commit heading into the game is actually at kicker with Seibert. He could leave with some others joining him, but he’s the lone wolf right now. Seibert has been a fun one for OU fans to track as he has been very vocal about not only his own abilities but also about the fact he has certainly learned to not like Texas.
Lawton (Okla.) High OG Jalin Barnett
It always felt like he would be an OU commit heading into the game, but it simply never panned out. There is a lot of questions about where his recruitment stands right now and few answers heading into the week. A lot of things should be cleared up by the time he leaves Florida.
Gardena (Calif.) Serra LB John Houston
He surprised many by scheduling a visit to OU and surprised even more by actually making the trip earlier this month. Houston, a five-star linebacker, has the Sooners in his final five, but it’s incredibly tough to see things turning out in OU’s favor right now.
