OU watch: U.S. Army game

OU has plenty of targets and commits in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

It’s all-star week coming up in recruiting, and Oklahoma is well represented in all three of the major all-star games.

Here is a look at OU commits and targets in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The U.S. Army game is noon CST Jan. 3 on NBC from the Alamodome in San Antonio.

U.S. Army All-American Bowl

Ontario (Canada) Canada Prep Football Academy DL Neville Gallimore

The one all OU fans will be watching for this year’s edition. Gallimore is expected to announce at the game with OU, Ohio State and Auburn looking like his top three schools. This has been another incredible recruiting job by defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery with both Gallimore and his entire family.

San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills DB Dechaun Holiday

Holiday was supposed to visit for Bedlam, but flight delays ultimately led to the whole visit being rescheduled. So tough to gauge when he hasn’t seen the campus yet, but it’s obvious the Sooners would take this playmaker in a heartbeat. Seeing what he says and who he interacts with could say a lot this week.

Riverside (Calif.) Poly DB Ykili Ross

The third time wasn’t the charm. Ross has scheduled three separate OU official visit trips that have never taken place. The fact he wants to announce at the game as well doesn’t bode well for the Sooners since he hasn’t seen Norman. Sounds like it just wasn’t in the cards for this one.

Mechanicsburg (Va.) Atlee LB Ricky DeBerry

The only OU commit in the game, but boy, is DeBerry a big one. The five-star linebacker made OU’s Christmas wish come true when he pledged last week. He said he’s going to attack the trail hard to help the Sooners and that should happen this week. It will be interesting to see who DeBerry targets and who listens to what he’s selling.
