The Intel took a holiday break but will return this week. We all know recruiting never stops for Oklahoma, and a lot has happened with the Sooners on both side of the ball.
So to get you caught up with the last two weeks, a quick summary of all the happenings with the Sooners on the trail.
All the focus is on Allen (Texas) High five-star quarterback Kyler Murray. Where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire. And right now there is a ton of smoke about Murray flipping his commitment from Texas A&M to the Sooners.
Whatever happens is going to have to happen fast since Murray is a mid-year enrollee recruit. He made an official visit to Norman during the season, and the rumor only gained traction throughout the week of practices at the Under Armour game.
Needless to say, this would be the biggest surprise development for the Sooners on the trail for this cycle.
Absolutely nothing. Rodney Anderson gets to campus next week, and OU is locked at the spot.
OU once again is looking to dip into the junior college waters with three-star juco 50 prospect Dominique Reed, who is scheduled to visit OU in two weeks.
Nothing at all. Sooners still set with Dalton Wood and not looking to add another piece to the puzzle.
A lot of moving and shaking here with almost all of it happening with the interior guys. Oklahoma City Casady four-star offensive lineman Josh Wariboko was scheduled to announce at the UA game before deciding not to the day before the event.
OU is still in really good shape with him, but the gut feeling is he definitely wants to take that final official visit before making his decision. It still feels like an OU-UCLA battle but be leery of Ohio State, especially if the Buckeyes are able to win the national championship.
Things continue to be murky regarding Lawton (Okla.) High’s Jalin Barnett. Did OU and Arkansas back off? Did Barnett waste too much time? Either way, he’s certainly no longer a lock and another example of you can’t wait forever in recruiting. Nebraska and Oklahoma State are squarely in the picture with a trip to OSU happening in two weeks.
OU’s positioning with Wariboko and Keller (Texas) High’s Maea Teuhema might be one reason OU is OK with letting Barnett go. Teuhema, the No. 1-rated guard and LSU commit, made a trip to Norman last month that made a huge impression on him.
