Miller, Green in focus for OU

The race is on. OU wants a receiver to close out the class and Sooners have their targets set on Green and Miller.

Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley wants a wide receiver to close out this class. And he’s not going to stop until he gets one.

The Sooners appeared to be in the driver’s seat for Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood Scout 100 prospect Van Jefferson, but he picked Ole Miss on Sunday night.

Next man up. Or men in this case. Riley and recruiting coordinator Cale Gundy have hit the road hard in the last two days to find the next receiver. Turns out they didn’t have to go too far.

OU offered Dallas Bishop Dunne receiver Adrian Miller on Monday night and followed that with an offer to Moore (Okla.) Westmoore receiver Dahu Green on Tuesday afternoon.

Miller, a one-time Illinois commit, decommitted from the Illini last week and took an official visit to California last weekend. After getting the offer, Miller confirmed Monday night he is going to take an official visit to OU this weekend.

Miller, who is 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds, is ranked No. 73 in the nation at wide receiver. He had 63 catches for 1,176 yards and 18 touchdowns last season.

Green is a name that caught the eye of Sooners Illustrated nearly 18 months ago. A transplant from California, Green exploded onto the local scene last year and only improved this season.

A one-time Louisville commit, Green committed to Washington State earlier this month. Riley and Gundy each visited Green on Tuesday afternoon, and Westmoore coach Adam Gaylor confirmed Green received the offer.

Not only that, but Riley and Gundy are both expected to have an in-home visit with Green on Tuesday evening.

Green, ranked No. 1 in the state at the position, is also a three-star prospect and ranked No. 7 overall in the state. He had 56 catches for 943 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior.

Green was never really a factor with OU with Jay Norvell as the receivers coach, but it’s clear Riley likes what he sees. And Gaylor said Riley made a fantastic first impression with Green and the Westmoore football program.
