The Class of 2016 is about to get rolling in a huge way for Oklahoma as the Sooners will have their first junior day Sunday.
OU enters this week with one commitment. And with the release of the Scout 300 2.0 for the 2016 class, Sooners Illustrated presents 25 realistic targets at this time.
This is not all of the Scout 300 prospects OU has offered, just the ones Sooners Illustrated feels comfortable in saying OU is a legit factor.
Here is part five of a five-part series.
Dallas First Baptist WR Camron Williams (No. 219)
Wiliams was a favorite of Jay Norvell, who offered Wiliams not long after he was the star of OU’s satellite camp in the Dallas area last June. New offensive regime in place for OU so too early to know if Williams remains in good standing with the Sooners. He was an absolute beast at that camp, no doubt about that.
Potomac (Md.) The Bullis School QB Dwayne Haskins (No. 227)
One of OU’s recent offers, Haskins fits the bill of what OU wants to do with an Air Raid offense perfectly. Haskins has around 40 offers already and keeps picking up a major one seemingly every day. All we can go off of right now is Haskins stating how much the offer meant and OU being one of his favorite schools growing up.
Marrero (La.) Ehret John LB Michael Divinity (No. 246)
Getting a linebacker from Louisiana would be a theme OU fans would love to continue. Divinity released a preliminary top five two months ago, and OU made the cut. More offers have come his way so there’s no way of knowing if OU can maintain its high ranking with Divinity.
Beaumont (Texas) Central RB Devwah Whaley (No. 248)
Whaley has emerged as one of the top Texas running backs for the class with nearly all of the major regional schools already in the mix. OU joined in the last month, but he has been on OU’s radar dating back to last summer. This is going to be one heck of a battle to watch between the Big 12 schools and Whaley.
Waco (Texas) CB Eric Cuffee (No. 297)
Cuffee tried to commit to Baylor last summer but his commitment wasn’t accepted. OU was in the mix with Cuffee throughout last year and offered last month. Provided OU can get him to campus for a junior day, things look really good for OU with Cuffee right now, whose stock continues to rise each week.
