Dalton Wood has left OU

Dalton Wood arrived at OU on Wednesday evening but left later that night. His future is unknown right now.

Oklahoma signee Dalton Wood has left Norman after being there for less than a day, confirmed Wood’s high school coach.

Wood, a three-star prospect, arrived at OU on Wednesday evening but left late Wednesday night, said Bryan Pratt, who coached Wood at McAlester (Okla.) High.

Pratt said he was shocked to hear this morning that Wood had left OU and said Wood is going through “personal issues” right now.

Pratt said Wednesday and stressed again Thursday it has nothing to do with Wood’s desire to be a Sooner or wondering if he wants to play football but would not elaborate more on the issues.

Sooners Illustrated spoke to Wood last Friday, and he said he was excited about coming to OU and representing his hometown of McAlester as a Sooner.

He was originally supposed to report to campus Sunday but didn’t arrive until Wednesday evening. Pratt said Thursday afternoon he hopes Wood will still have a home with the Sooners, provided all of the personal issues are resolved.

Sunday was the first day for signees to report to campus and the only signees not officially enrolled are linebacker Arthur McGinnis and offensive lineman Dominique Hearne. McGinnis said he plans to arrive at OU on Friday.
