OKPreps Week 4 primer

Week 4 begins district play for most of the state and an Edlam showdown takes the cake.

We’re one week closer to the season. Not just for Oklahoma but in Oklahoma high school football as well.

To get you geared up, Sooners Illustrated is going to take a week-by-week glance at the top games featuring the most OU interest.

With the focus being purely Sooners, it’s not necessarily the games that feature the most star-studded recruits but the games that have the recruits with the most legitimate OU interest.

Edmond Santa Fe vs. Edmond Memorial

Why watch: The week district play begins throughout most of the state usually features a lot of dud games, but this will be one intriguing one to watch.

Though not always loaded with the top recruits, Memorial has been consistently in the battle for the Edlam city championship. It will be that way once again as Bulldogs have some young talent worth keeping tabs on but no major recruits on the radar.

Santa Fe, of course, is the home to No. 1-ranked prospect in the state, Calvin Bundage. OU was among the first schools to offer Bundage way back when, and he is the only prospect in the state in the Scout 300 for the 2016 class.

Running back Darran Williams continues to be a name to watch for the Wolves as well.
