OKPreps Week 9 primer

Down the stretch we come with a preview of Week 9 for the OKPreps regular season.

We’re one week closer to the season. Not just for Oklahoma but in Oklahoma high school football as well.

To get you geared up, Sooners Illustrated is going to take a week-by-week glance at the top games featuring the most OU interest.

With the focus being purely Sooners, it’s not necessarily the games that feature the most star-studded recruits but the games that have the recruits with the most legitimate OU interest.

OKPreps Week 9

OKC John Marshall at Meeker

It could be a battle of the best offensive lineman for one class against the best for the next. John Marshall’s Tramonda Moore has set himself apart from the rest of the class with offers from OU, Alabama and TCU, among others.

But Meeker’s Adrian Wolford for the Class of 2017 is definitely somebody to circle going forward. Wolford has already put himself on OU’s radar and as more film gets out of his work, his recruitment will pick up.

He’s not the lone 2017 standout with John Marshall also featuring defensive back Justin Broiles, who already has offers from Tulsa and Arkansas State and fared well at OU’s camp.

Best of the rest

Broken Arrow at Edmond Santa Fe. The Wolves and No. 1-ranked player in the state, Calvin Bundage, look to pick up a huge win against Rowdy Frederick and the rest of the Tigers.

Mustang at Tulsa Union. If Mustang is the best hope of the west side, this game could tell us a lot about where it stands. Look out for Mustang quarterback Chandler Garrett and 2017 Union cornerback Tre Brown.
