Recruiting: Florida lineman down to two schools

Offensive lineman

Hometown: Claremont, Fla.

JH: Has your season started yet?

RC: We lost our first game of the year to Ocala Vanguard 35-19. I played right tackle and I personally did alright, but we lost so I didn't do good enough. I am glad the season is underway and I am really excited about it. I think we are going to win our district, but we need to take it game-by-game. We made a lot of mistakes in our first game and I believe we are going to be a totally different team this week.

JH: Coaches started calling again last weekend, how many have you heard from?

RC: The first day I heard from eight schools, yesterday six schools and about eight today. Right now my decision is down to Florida and Oklahoma. I talked to Oklahoma Saturday and I didn't get to set up my official visit, but I would like to. Oklahoma has a great offensive line coach and they are always a powerhouse. I like the coaching staff. I get along with Coach (Steve) Spurrier and I really get along with all the coaching staff. Oklahoma just sounds like a good place today. At Florida, they are a powerhouse always as well. They are an hour-and-a-half drive from my house. I get along with (Jimmy Ray) Stevens very well. Florida has a great history of offensive lineman going into the NFL.

JH: At which school would you have the opportunity to play better?

RC: Both schools are somewhat even on the depth chart. However, I think I have a slightly better chance to play early at Oklahoma. OU graduates more starters than Florida and they don't have as much depth in the offensive line right now. However, I am not really worried about the depth, I believe in myself and I will go in and test my skills and see how things go.

JH: Have you set up a visit with either team yet?

RC: I set up a visit with Florida on November 3rd. I would like to get my decision by late December. Our schedule is screwed because we have three straight away games starting this week and then on the fourth weekend we have homecoming. So, I can't go anywhere for at least four weeks. So, I might try to get to Oklahoma when they play Kansas State.
