Introducing 2018 RB Devontae Lee

2018 John Marshall RB Devontae Lee is going to be a name to circle going forward.

There is talent galore at Oklahoma City John Marshall. Offensive lineman Tramonda Moore has become one of the hottest prospects on the recruiting trail.

2017 cornerback Justin Broiles has asserted himself as one to watch. But if you ask head coach Rashaun Woods, the one name he’ll repeat is running back Devontae Lee.

Lee, a Class of 2018 prospect, showed why in a four-team scrimmage last week. Lee has 100 percent recovered from a torn ACL and is ready to show the state what he can do.

Lee, who is around 5-foot-9 and 205 pounds, showed his versatility in scoring multiple touchdowns against all three of the other schools involved. He outran some defenders. He ran through others and even hurdled another.

It was a banner night for Lee, who said one of his favorite players is former OU star and now Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. Lee said Peterson recovered so quickly from his torn ACL that he wanted to do the same.

Lee rushed for 543 yards on just 47 attempts with 11 touchdowns in five games last season. Running behind somebody like Moore should definitely open up more holes for him as well.

Lee has been fighting to get healthy so it might be a little too early in terms of his recruitment. He said he’s on the early board for OU, Oklahoma State and Tulsa. But if he keeps doing what he did last week, it won’t be long before he becomes much more of a household name.
