The OKPreps season is upon us, and a number of quality Oklahoma prospects will be in action all over the state.
All eyes, however, will be on one major showdown between an in-state power against a state of Texas power.
Southlake Carroll (Texas) at Tulsa Union
Who to watch: Take your pick as there are legitimate OU targets all over the place for the 2016 and 2017 classes.
Start at Union with 2017 cornerback Tre Brown. Ranked No. 223 in the Scout 300, Brown said two weeks ago the OU coaches should be in attendance to watch this contest. Doesn’t have the OU offer yet but that could change in upcoming weeks.
Southlake Carroll has a couple of major, major OU targets. It starts with 2016 cornerback Obi Eboh. The Scout 300 prospect has felt like an OU commit just waiting to happen the last month until the Texas offer earlier this week.
And OU is trying to close hard with 2017 LB/S Robert Barnes. The son of former OU linebacker captain Reggie Barnes, Robert and Eboh both visited Norman last month.
Be on the watch for Union’s Kameron McQueen. He has dazzled in scrimmages. Could be the definition of a late bloomer and watching what he does vs. a team as talented as SLC is going to be a good indicator of where things stand for him.
And though OU isn’t showing much interest, Lil Jordan Humphrey is no doubt one to circle for Southlake Carroll as well.
