It’s rare to get an opportunity to see something like Friday night when a number of top Oklahoma targets face off in the same high school game in three different classes.
The last week of non-district play, and it’s going to end in a bang with Edmond Santa Fe taking on Moore Southmoore.
It’s a chance to see potentially the No. 1-ranked prospect in the state for the next three classes. Edmond Santa Fe’s Calvin Bundage (2016) vs. Southmoore’s Quindon Lewis (2017) vs. Southmoore’s Casey Thompson/Brey Walker (2018).
Bundage is ranked No. 1 in the state and the only OKPreps recruit in the Scout 300 for this class. Lewis is ranked in the Scout 300 for 2017 but is currently No. 3 in the state. Walker is already a four-star recruit by Scout, and you have to think Thompson is well on his toward earning that nod as well.
Thompson had a showcase outing last week, totaling more than 400 yards and seven touchdowns in a win against rival Westmoore. Thompson has already accounted for 11 touchdowns this season (8 passing, 3 rushing).
It was this game last year that although Santa Fe won, you could tell the future was bright for Southmoore with guys like Thompson and Lewis. The future is now and there should be plenty of fireworks in this one.
Others to watch:
Santa Fe: RB Darran Williams.
