OU commit Chris Robison injured

OU quarterback commit Chris Robison injured his shin Friday night. The severity of the injury is unknown, and he will be evaluated Saturday.

Mesquite (Texas) Horn quarterback Chris Robison left Friday’s night game against Highland Park after suffering a shin injury in the second quarter.

Robison, a 2017 Scout 100 prospect committed to Oklahoma, was rolling toward the sideline when he ran out of real estate. He returned to the sideline in the second half and on crutches and will be evaluated Saturday morning.

“I’ll be OK,” Robison said.

Before the injury, Robison threw an interception and also connected on a 62-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Mesquite Horn trailed 14-7 at the time of his injury.

Robison is one of two OU commits in the 2017 class, and he remained upbeat on the sideline throughout the rest of the game.

His father said they hope the tests will be able to reveal whether or not he has a fracture or just a deep bruise. If it’s a deep bruise, Ronnie Robison said he believes his son would play.
