About what everybody expected after the first week. Oklahoma moved up three spots to No. 12 in the second installment of the college football playoff rankings Tuesday evening.
Not a shock at all with the Sooners jumping three of the four teams who lost that were ranked ahead of them entering the weekend.
OU failed to leapfrog LSU, who went from No. 2 to No. 9 following its loss at Alabama.
The Sooners didn’t have a real chance to make an impression facing Iowa State but that will obviously change with the trip to Waco to take on undefeated Baylor.
The Bears, however, did not receive a jump for this week. Despite the win at Kansas State, Baylor remains ranked No. 6 as Iowa vaulted four spots from No. 9 to No. 5.
In other Big 12 news, Oklahoma State made the biggest jump of the week as the Cowboys went from No. 14 to No. 8 because of their impressive win against TCU. Conversely, the Horned Frogs are this week’s biggest loser as Gary Patterson’s club dropped seven spots to No. 15.
The top four for this week is Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame.
