Stoops: OU's Baker Mayfield, Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine expected to play

Good news for the Sooners as OU head coach Bob Stoops said Baker Mayfield, Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon are all expected to play against Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma fans can take a big sigh of relief. Head coach Bob Stoops announced in a statement Friday morning quarterback Baker Mayfield and running backs Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine are expected to play Saturday night in Bedlam at Oklahoma State.

“Baker Mayfield and Samaje Perine practiced all week, and Joe Mixon has practiced every day since Wednesday,” said Stoops in the statement. “All three are expected to play tomorrow.”

Mayfield missed the second half of OU’s 30-29 win against TCU because of a concussion but did not miss one day of practice. Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon both injured their ankles against the Horned Frogs.

The third-ranked Sooners played the 11th-ranked Cowboys 7 p.m. CST on Saturday night on ABC.
