Bomar Sooner correspondent Thayer Evans was the first to talk with Rhett Bomar after his verbal commitment to Oklahoma on Saturday night. just spoke with newly committed Sooner quarterback Rhett Bomar on his cell phone from the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp in Irvine, Calif.

"I'm a Sooner," said Bomar, just minutes before a 9 a.m. (PST) Elite 11 Camp workout this morning. "I haven't had a chance to tell the (OU) coaches yet."

Bomar said he chose the Sooners over Florida State and Texas.

"OU felt good," said Bomar. "They've always kind of been number one in my heart. It feels great."

Ultimately, Bomar said the Sooner coaching staff put OU over the top.

"I love OU's coaches," said Bomar. "Whenever I'm in Norman, I feel comfortable. OU is where I want to be for the next four or five years."
