School isn’t officially in session for Oklahoma until Tuesday so there could still be some last-minute surprises for the Sooners.
But all the recruits known as mid-year enrollees are all headed to Norman on Thursday to start the next chapter and their time at OU.
Sooners Illustrated examines the mid-year junior college transfer prospects officially signed as Sooners.
Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna CC OL Ashton Julious (No. 47 Scout Juco 100)
The Intel: When this offer was first made, it was an interesting one. You knew OU wanted a junior college offensive tackle, but nobody knew at the time Julious was going to end up being that guy. As the season rolled around, though, OU kept maintaining that contact with Julious and the official visit sealed the deal. Julious hasn’t been as vocal as some, but the Sooners also have never had to worry about where he stands. A two-for-two guy, he’ll need to make that adjustment immediately.
El Dorado (Kan.) Butler CC OL Ben Powers (No. 39 Scout Juco 100)
The Intel: Junior college in name only? Powers, much like Quinn Mittermeier for the 2015 class, is another one of those four-for-three guys so Powers is going to have some time to acclimated to Norman and find his footing. OU was searching for another interior offensive lineman to join Logan Roberson, and it was clear that search was over once Powers was offered and was on the same page. Committed during an in-home visit, much to the shock and delight of Bob Stoops and Bill Bedenbaugh.
