Breaking down OU's 2016 class: WR

Looking at OU's 2016 class continues with wide receiver.

Signing day is almost here. New to the recruiting game or just want a refresher of what has already happened, here is a look at Oklahoma’s class heading into Wednesday.

Wide receiver

Houston Spring Dekaney’s Adrian Hardy (6-3, 185, No. 169 WR)

The Intel: Not too much to this story here. OU coaches Lincoln Riley and Dennis Simmons noticed Hardy well before anybody else and offered. Following a trip to junior day, Hardy decided he had seen what he needed to see and made the call.

Texas A&M eventually entered the picture, but Hardy stuck with the Sooners and an official visit in November sort of silenced any chance of him looking away. Still a lot of questions among OU fans about just how good Hardy can be. If nothing else, he’s going to get the chance.

Southlake (Texas) Carroll’s Zach Farrar (6-3, 208, No. 58 WR)

The Intel: Once the offer finally (and do mean finally) came, it felt like a countdown. Farrar’s dream school has always been OU. And though the Sooners had shown interest, they never went all-in until last weekend.

Farrar was offered and saw the campus once again on an official visit and flipped his commitment from Mississippi State to the Sooners.

Farrar is hopefully that perfect blend of speed and size. He certainly wowed during his senior season that helped him earn four-star status and the long sought after OU offer.

Signing day surprise? Absolutely. Be on the watch for the Joneses. Yes, the saga that simply doesn’t end with Saraland (Ala) High’s Velus Jones. Will it be USC? Will it be OU? Sooners have been enamored with Jones for three months. Will it be enough? Find out Wednesday.

Then the last-minute visit from Parkway (La.) Mykel Jones is one to watch. A torn ACL saw him fall in the rankings, but he has Scout 300 potential. It’s OU or Alabama for Jones at this point.

Signing day result? Mykel Jones to OU. Velus Jones to USC.
