After waiting 26 years for the top spot in the AP poll, Oklahoma earned the No. 1 ranking for the third straight week – the longest run in program history.
This week, top-ranked Oklahoma knocked off LSU, 77-75, in a come-from-behind road victory and made easy work of Texas Tech in a 91-67 win at home.
The Sooners earned 45 of the 65 first-place votes in the AP poll.
Oklahoma (18-2, 7-2), which has lost in just two road games this season, remained at No. 2 in the coaches poll. The Big 12 had five teams in the top-15 in both polls.
This week, Oklahoma faces TCU at home and then goes on the road Saturday to face Kansas State, the only team that swept the Sooners last season.
