You’ve got a pretty interesting nickname. What is it, and where did it come from?

My nickname is Doo-wop. They don’t really know where it came from. It’s more from back when I went to high school in Philly. I used to do a lot of fancy crossovers and stuff. They’d say, ‘Oh, you hit him with the oo-wop. Then it just became Doo-wop. It was fun. I used to dribble a lot when I was in high school.

You went to high school in Philly, but you were born in Canada. You’re a well-traveled guy, huh?

Born in Canada, where I played in high school until my sophomore year. Then I was scoring a lot and doing a lot of good things in Canada. One of the coaches in Philly knew my high school coach. I ended up going to Philly the next year. That was when a lot of the guys were going to prep school and stuff. I decided to go to prep school too.

Where are you parents from?

My mom is from England. My dad is from Jamaica. They met in Canada.

What is your favorite hobby outside of basketball?

Playing Call of Duty. Talking to my friends. Hanging out. Listening to music. I listen to music a lot and play some X-Box One – Call of Duty: Black Ops. That’s my game. That’s my game.

So you like Call of Duty, but is your favorite movie in that same genre?

My favorite movie is probably Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys 2. It’s an action movie. Will Smith in Miami. They’re cops, trying to take down the bad guys.

Now I prefer the first Bad Boys, but you’re sticking with the second one?

I prefer the second one. I watched the first one too. I liked the first one, but the second one is just my all-time favorite. I could watch it all day. I’ve already watched it like 15 times.

What is something that fans don’t know about you that you’d want them to know?

I support my Canadian artists: Drake and Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber, I have a lot tracks of him. He’s a good singer. I sing a little too for the ladies and all that. I’ve got some Justin Bieber. People don’t really think I listen to him, but I listen to him here and there.

So you’re a Bieleber? He’s your favorite artist?

He’s not my favorite artist, but one of my top singers. Bieber and Chris Brown are my favorite singers in R&B.

What is your biggest vice or worst habit?

I like to drink sodas and stuff. I know I shouldn’t for my body and stuff, but I always have a sprite or a Fanta here and there, whenever I can get my hands on it. I’ll get some Skittles, too.

Where is Dinjiyl Walker going to be in five years?

In five years, Dinjiyl Walker is going to be playing professional basketball somewhere on this earth.

The earth is big. Want to narrow it down?

I mean, I always want to go home. I’m thinking in five years, I’m going to try to go to the NBA and go home to Toronto or something. I see myself trying out for some NBA teams. If not, go overseas and work towards the NBA. That’s the goal.
