Junior college defensive back Chijioke Onyenegecha will not be reporting to the Oklahoma football team on Tuesday. Chijioke has enrolled in another class at San Francisco City College, and he hopes that class will get him eligible to graduate. However, that class will run for the most part of two-a-days and into game week.
His hamstring hasn't healed enough to let him go through two-a-days, so he is not really missing any practice time. However, he will miss some football education time, because he will not be in town to watch the Sooners workout.
OU still has to hope that he will pass that final class, and if he does that will put him on campus during game week or the week after the first game. Then, if his hamstring is OK to practice, he would start practicing with the Sooners at that point.
Remember, as I pointed out earlier Chijioke won't be a factor for the Sooners until the fourth game season or the Texas game. And that is only if he finally gets all his class work behind him at SFCC.
Chijioke's arrival pushed back
