Walker: "I still like Oklahoma a lot"

Waco, Texas cornerback Marcus Walker says the race for his servies are beginning to heat up

MARCUS WALKER, CB, 5-11, 180, 4.45, WACO, TEXAS (WACO HS):

JH: Are you ready for practice to start?

MW: "We start in a week on August 11. I am really looking forward to getting started."

JH: How did your summer go?

MW: "I have worked hard this summer and I am anxious to see how I play this fall."

JH: What is going on in recruiting?

MW: "I have been taking it easy in recruiting, but I am sure once school starts everything will heat up again."

JH: What schools are involved at this time?

MW: "It is about the same. It's OU, Texas A&M, Florida State and LSU. I could also add Arkansas, Notre Dame and Nebraska to that list, or at least I am thinking about it."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

MW: "I still really like Oklahoma a lot. They have a great program, they are close to home, play a great defense and they have one of the best programs in the country. I still like Oklahoma a lot."

JH: Did you hear about Rhett Bomar committing to OU?

MW: "I heard that he committed to OU last night. I really want to meet him. I hear that he is a great quarterback, but I haven't had the chance to talk to him. I hope that he calls me, or if I can get a number for him I will try to get hold of him."

JH: Does it make any difference to you when a great player commits to a program or that a team is putting together a great recruiting class? Does that influence your decision at all?

MW: "Yes sir, because you want to go to a school that is recruiting other good players besides you. You want to be part of a class with a great quarterback and several other great players in the class. You don't want to go to a program where you are the only great player in the class. I am not saying that his commitment specificially will have a direct influence on my decision, but the fact he did commit and is part of that class means something to me."
