The wacky world of recruiting is at it again. Just this past Sunday Arlington Lamar linebacker Garnett Smith committed to OU and now on Wednesday he has decommitted from the Sooners and decided to go the hated Texas Longhorns.
"I think I made a hasty decision earlier in the week," said Smith. "I liked Oklahoma, but after making the decision I didn't feel real comfortable with it. Then, when I talked to the Texas coaches, I just had a better feeling about Texas. My family actually feels better about me signing with Texas than OU.
JH: Do you think that your recruiting is over at this point, do you feel it is going to drag out for a while?
GS: "At this time I say my recruiting is over and that I am going to go to Texas. I have tried to get hold of Oklahoma and haven't been able to. I have tried to call Coach (Bob) Stoops and let him know my decision. I guess right now my recruiting is over with.
Stay tuned as we feel the Oklahoma coaches won't let this one get away easily and this race could go down to signing day.
