RECRUITING: Arlington WR still thinking about OU

Lance Leggett has virtually gone from unknown to superstar over the past three months. The coveted receiver from Arlington talks with about his trip to Florida and his top five schools.

LANCE LEGGETT, WR, 6-3, 180, 4.40 ARLINGTON, TEXAS (Pantego Academy):

JH: You spent about a month in Florida, so what were you doing there?

LL: "I visited family in Florida and also went to camp at the University of Florida and Florida State. I also took an unofficial visit to Miami. I had a real good time while I was out there."

JH: What did you think of your unofficial at Miami?

LL: "It was a real good place and I liked it a lot, but I really liked all three schools quite a bit. I just had a real good time at all three schools."

JH: Do you have a favorite among the three schools?

LL: "There isn't anything that I can say that really sets any of the three schools apart or anything. They are all just about the same."

JH: When does your high school practice start?

LL: "We just started practice today. I just walked back into the house when you called. I did okay today, but I can practice better. I am in pretty good shape, but to be honest, I am in better shape than many of the guys on our team. I will continue to get into better shape, but as a team need to get into better condition."

JH: What is going on in recruiting?

LL: "I am still basically still talking to all the schools that are recruiting me, but I think you can say that the three Florida schools, Texas and Oklahoma are maybe my top five. I really am keeping recruiting open at this time."

JH: Talk about your connections in Florida.

LL: "I am originally from Florida, so I have most of my family still in Florida. That really won't play much of a factor in my decision and I could go to college anywhere. Distance won't be a factor for me. I will just pick the college where I feel the most comfortable."

JH: What are you thoughts on Oklahoma at this time?

LL: "I like Oklahoma a lot and my coaches at school were talking about Oklahoma today. They were saying how good of a school and how good of a football program Oklahoma is. Plus, they just committed a great quarterback in Rhett Bomar."

JH: Will the fact that Bomar has committed to OU have any influence on your decision?

LL: "That could have a influence on my decision, but I know that all the schools that I am considering have good quarterbacks at their school. I got to know Rhett at the Florida State camp and the fact he would be in my recruiting class is something that I will consider."

JH: When do you think you will make your decision?

LL: "I think I will take some visits, but I don't know how many. I am not sure when I will make my decision. I know I am not ready to make it now, but maybe in the middle of the football season or in December."
