Charleston Rambo pledges to Sooners

What's better than 1 Scout 300 commit on Easter Sunday? How about 2? Charleston Rambo joins SoonerSquad17.

One commit on Easter Sunday wasn’t enough so Oklahoma got another. Another wide receiver. Another Scout 300 member.

Cedar Hill (Texas) High wide receiver Charleston Rambo announced Sunday he is the latest recruit to join #SoonerSquad17, tweeting his intention to pledge.

Rambo, ranked No. 145 in the Scout 300, is OU’s third receiver pledge for the class and joins Waxahachie (Texas) High’s Jalen Reagor as Scout 200 receivers who committed to OU on Sunday.

The Sooners have seemed to be the clear favorite for Rambo for a long time, but there were some questions about when Rambo would feel comfortable starting to narrow down the process.

Offered by OU last summer, it’s obvious he has been a priority for the Sooners coaching staff, and Rambo has made multiple visits to Norman in the last 12 months.

A visit last weekend to Notre Dame had some OU fans worried, especially with Cedar Hill quarterback Avery Davis pledging to the Irish.

But the work put in by OU’s commits and by the coaches was too much. Rambo has talked highly of OU for a long time, but he certainly had his choice of schools.

With receiver spots filling up fast, Rambo might have felt the clock was ticking and, as defensive backs coach Kerry Cooks would say, “reserved his spot” in SoonerSquad17.

Rambo gives OU 11 commits for the cycle and the Sooners are now a perfect 10-for-10 when it comes to high school recruits in the Scout 300.
