Tampa Bay Buccaneers take Oklahoma Sooners linebacker Devante Bond in the sixth round

Bond is the first Oklahoma linebacker taken in the 2016 NFL Draft

Devante Bond became the first Sooners linebacker taken in the 2016 NFL Draft, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked him in the sixth round.

He was picked No. 183 overall.

Bond became a full-time starter for the Sooners late last year when Geneo Grissom was injured. He played in just nine games this past season and started just five games because of injury.

He averaged five tackles per game as a senior and had seven tackles for loss and three sacks this season.

Bond was picked before Eric Striker and Dominique Alexander and was the fourth Sooner taken in the draft.
