Is there a more puzzling recruit right now than Shawnee (Okla.) High center Creed Humphrey? The last couple of months, sources in Shawnee have said Humphrey is a 100 percent lock to commit to Texas A&M.
Well, if he is, he’s had a strange way of showing it by appearing in Norman twice in four-day period this last week. And if he is, well, this could be the weekend to watch as Humphrey heads to visit College Station.
Texas A&M is putting on a nice little event for recruits Saturday, and there’s no doubt OU fans need to be on high alert with Humphrey.
One of the things said in recruiting often is don’t listen to what a kid says but watch what he does. Humphrey and his father came to Norman last Saturday decked out in OU gear, and then Creed was back for the elite one-day camp, hanging around OU commits Isaiah Thomas and Tyrese Robinson for the bulk of the evening.
Now the Aggies absolutely have an ace in the hole with Meeker (Okla.) High offensive lineman Adrian Wolford already being committed to A&M. Meeker and Shawnee are like 15 miles away from each other, and Wolford and Humphrey have been friends well before they were top recruits.
Humphrey has been consistent in saying his decision is coming in June. We’re coming toward mid-June. We know the options. He’s a Sooner. Or he’s an Aggie. This weekend should answer a lot of those questions.
