Cade Mashburn, Gervarrius Owens commit to Memphis

If Memphis heads to Big 12, the Tigers are stockpiling OKPreps talent in process.

Memphis hasn’t been invited into the Big 12 just yet, but you would have no idea based on all the recruits the Tigers are pulling from the state of Oklahoma.

Already with three entering Thursday, Memphis leaves the day with five prospects committed from the Sooner State.

Three-star prospects Gervarrius Owens (Southmoore) and Cade Mashburn (Norman North) both committed to the Tigers on Thursday evening.

Owens has potential as a wide receiver, outside linebacker or safety and was nearing the 20-offer total. It felt like it came down to Memphis or Houston when it was all said and done.

Mashburn, who has been recruited heavily by Oklahoma, decided it was time to make his choice and is no doubt a difference maker at outside linebacker.

Both Mashburn and Owens have already visited Memphis in the last few months and the Tigers staff continues to excel in recruiting the area.

With Mashburn and Owens in the fold, they join Nick Robinson (Putnam City West), Quindon Lewis (Southmoore) and Marcus Mays (Tulsa Edison) as OKPreps kids currently committed to Memphis.
