Oklahoma’s defensive line for the 2017 season just added a nice piece to the puzzle as former Notre Dame defensive end Grant Blankenship has enrolled at OU.
Blankenship was ranked No. 91 in the Scout 100 for the 2014 class coming out of The Colony (Texas) High. Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly announced late last week Blankenship would be leaving the program.
Blankenship was suspended for a violation of team rules in the spring and played sparingly in the 2015 season after adding 20 pounds following his freshman season.
He will have to sit out this season per NCAA transfer rules, but Blankenship would be a redshirt junior and eligible to play for the Sooners in 2017.
He is listed at 6-foot-5 and 278 pounds.
