Hometown: Garland, Texas:
JH: You played this weekend, but was it hard to stay concentrated considering the terrible attack on our country?
DD: It was kind of hard to play, because football wasn't on my mind until the day of the game. However, once we started I got into the flow of it and really got into the game. DeSoto beat us 24-20 to drop us to 0-3 on the year. We had a chance to win all three games, but we just weren't able to pull it off.
JH: How have you played so far this season?
DD: I think I have played pretty well. I was the player-of-the-game in our season opener with nine tackles. In our second game I had seven tackles and a sack, and then against DeSoto I had nine tackles and a sack. I start the games out at tackle, and depending on what the offense is trying to do with me I will move outside where I have a little more room to operate. Whether I will play end or tackle in college depends on what defense they are running.
JH: How is recruiting going with you at this time?
DD: Right now I am looking at Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Notre Dame. I am talking to some other schools, but right now those three schools are the one's I am really interested in. I don't have a favorite right now, but I have set a visit for Notre Dame at the end of the season. All of my visits are going to be at the end of the season. All three schools have offered and I will visit all three schools."
JH: Talk about the three schools you are most interested in.
DD: I like Oklahoma a lot. I like their style of defense and their rotation at defensive tackle. I talked with Coach (Jackie) Shipp and he told me he likes to play a lot of players at defensive tackle and that is what I am looking for. I like their aggressive style of defense.
Texas A&M is close to home and their defense is very aggressive. I have been to Texas A&M three or four times and I am very familiar with what they are doing. I know Coach (Buddy) Wyatt the most and really like him. I have gotten to know him better than the other coaches.
Notre Dame has always been my dream school, but the distance factor bothers me a little bit. I have to make sure I am able handle the distance, because I am going to spend the next four or five years there.
JH: What other schools are you looking at?
DD: I am also looking at Texas, LSU and Nebraska. LSU has offered me and Nebraska is very close. I will probably end up visiting Nebraska and maybe Texas.
