You knew Oklahoma would get one more crack at South Grand Prairie (Texas) High athlete Jeffrey Okudah, and now we know when.
The five-star athlete (ranked No. 11 in the Scout 100) announced Sunday evening he will make his official visit to Norman for the Sooners’ major showdown against Ohio State, the weekend of Sept. 16.
One game usually won’t be the decider in a recruitment, but if you ask most experts, the top two schools for Okudah right now are indeed OU and Ohio State.
Okudah has made multiple trips to Norman, including several trips during this calendar year and has an incredible friendship with many of OU’s commits in the 2017 class, highlighted by his bond with Southlake (Texas) Carroll safety Robert Barnes.
OU and Ohio State both made Okudah’s top six earlier this summer, and it seems pretty inevitable Okudah will also head to Columbus as well for an official visit.
But OU will get the first crack at it. The Sooners were ranked No. 3 in the preseason AP top 25 poll released Sunday morning with Ohio State coming in at No. 6.
Okudah was offered by the Sooners back in February 2015 and has been a top, sought after target ever since that point.
