Oklahoma defensive line coach Calvin Thibodeaux said he was hoping to find the leader of the defensive line when camp rolled around.
That leader, according to several OU coaches and players, was predicted to be defensive tackle Matt Romar.
But after two days of practice, Romar suffered an injury and hasn’t been back in camp.
“In his two days, he looked pretty dang good,” Thibodeaux said. “He’s in concussion protocol, but we should have him back for game week.”
Injury or not, Thibodeaux said Romar can still indeed be that guy.
“I still believe Matthew Romar is the guy,” Thibodeaux said. “He’s been banged up, but he’s been encouraging the whole fall camp. I still believe he is that guy. You can’t make that at up. He’s the guy.”
