The good news starts a little early for Oklahoma. With the Sooners headed toward the Red River Showdown vs. Texas on Saturday, SoonerSquad17 added another piece to the puzzle.
Riviera Beach (Fla.) Suncoast defensive end/outside linebacker K’Jakyre Daley announced his commitment to the Sooners on Friday morning.
Daley, a three-star prospect, took an official visit to OU last month and came away very impressed during his first trip to Norman.
Recruited by some schools as a defensive end, Daley seems like the ideal fit for OU at outside linebacker going forward.
Daley had originally announced he was going to visit Wisconsin later this month, but it’s clear the good vibes he had from the OU visit simply never went away.
The Sooners first started to pursue Daley earlier this calendar year, and it became apparent OU was not just another offer for the Florida prospect. After both sides cooling down during the summer, things changed in a hurry when the season came back around.
Daley is the second addition to OU’s 2017 class this week, joining Scout 300 running back Kennedy Brooks from Monday morning. He is the third outside linebacker and will keep the Sooners ranked No. 3 in Scout’s rankings for 2017.
