RECRUITING: Waco CB still has OU at the top

Waco, Texas CB Marcus Walker talks about his high school season and his interest in the Sooners.

MARCUS WALKER, CB, 5-11, 180, 4.45, WACO, TEXAS (WACO HS):

JH: How did your first scrimmage go?

MW: "We scrimmaged last weekend. We played Dallas Lancaster and we did alright. As always, going through a scrimmage you will have some things you need to work. We have a couple of kinks we need to work out before the season, but that is expected. We just need to get back to work and improve, which we have been doing thus far this week. Plus, in that scrimmage we didn't have Torey (DeGrate) and another starter."

JH: How did you play individually?

MW: "I did alright. We weren't in our regular defense the whole game. We played zone the whole scrimmage, and we never do that in a real scrimmage. So, I had an area to cover and they didn't throw the ball my way very often. I like our regular defense a lot better, because we play a lot more man out of that defense and I am more involved in our regular defense."

JH: How is recruiting going?

MW: "I am not going to try to let recruiting bother me to much during the season. I am going to try to concentrate on my season. I think I owe that to my teammates to give my best effort this year and then I can concentrate on recruiting."

JH: What are your top teams at this time?

MW: "They are still pretty much the same. They are Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Arkansas and Georgia Tech. Oklahoma is still at the top of my list. They are still a school that I am always paying attention to. I don't know if I want to say they are the leader right now, but in many ways Oklahoma is the school that I compare other schools to. Texas A&M, Florida State and LSU are also up there with Oklahoma, but Oklahoma is a school that I really like."
