Just keep winning – that’s all Oklahoma can do. Ranked No. 9 in both the coaches and AP polls, the Sooners are at No. 11 in Week 2 of the college football playoff rankings Tuesday evening.
That’s still ahead of pace of last year when OU was ranked No. 12 at the same time, and the Sooners have a chance to add another quality win Saturday with Baylor coming to town.
OU was No. 14 last week but was bound to move up thanks in large part to winning comfortably at Iowa State and watching some other schools ranked ahead of the Sooners falter.
Overall, it was a good week for the Big 12. OU wasn’t the lone team to make a jump up as Oklahoma State is now No. 13, and West Virginia jumps up four spots to No. 16.
OU, obviously, still has games against the Cowboys and Mountaineers to finish the season.
The top four, to no surprise, is Alabama, Clemson, Michigan and Washington.
The Sooners have won six consecutive games and are the only undefeated team in Big 12 conference play.
