KEITH RIVERS, LB, 6-3, 220, 4.45, LAKE MARY, FLORIDA (LAKE MARY HS):
JH: Have you played your first game yet this season?
KR: "We actually play tomorrow against Freedom High School out of Orlando. It is a new school that was just built last year. Our old DB coach took over as head coach there."
JH: How did your summer go?
KR: "I went to a couple of camps and worked out pretty hard. Everything is getting back into synch as we are working out pretty hard. We are lifting more this season so that we can stay strong and I think that is going to pay off big for us."
JH: Talk about the summer trips you made.
KR: "I went to the Southern Cal and Florida camps and tried to make it out to OU. However, everything time I would think I would have it set up then something would come up and I couldn't go. I will visit OU when I take my official visit there. Also my coach and I may go out to the Red River Shootout. We talked about it today and we hope we can get that done."
JH: Who is still in it for your services at this point?
KR: "I am still looking at Southern Cal, Miami, Florida, Oklahoma and Florida State."
JH: Do any one of those schools standout as a favorite?
KR: "Everything is pretty much even at this point. Maybe it's USC by just a little bit over Oklahoma. However, it is really close right now and I haven't seen Oklahoma yet. I haven't seen all the schools and that is the big reason why that everything is even. At USC and Florida I got to know all the coaches at their camp and I know a little more about them."
JH: Are you looking to stay in Florida? Or is leaving the state still an option for you?
KR: "Oh, definitely. I am just trying to pick the best school where I feel I have the best chance to get in there and mix it up early. I also want to find a school where everything fits academically and I don't want to just limit myself to schools in Florida."
JH: Who is recruiting you for Oklahoma and what are your thoughts on the Sooners at this point?
KR: "Coach (Kevin) Wilson is actually recruiting me, but the only coach I have talked to from Oklahoma is Coach (Brent) Venables. He is a great guy and he is actually the reason why I have such a great interest in OU. He is always so up beat, but a real genuine guy who seems to care about me. I love talking to him and he sent me a bunch of stuff on Oklahoma's great linebacker tradition that was great to look at."
JH: When do you plan on taking your official visits?
KR: "I want to take them after the season ends. I want to focus on this season and then once that is over I will start to focus on my future in football."
