It’s national signing day and Oklahoma put in the work to make its SoonerSquad17 one of the best in Norman in some time.
Sooners Illustrated is here to give a position-by-position overview of the newest recruits headed to Norman.
Mesquite (Texas) Horn QB Chris Robison
The story: The man who started it all. The first commit of OU’s SoonerSquad17 way back when on June 26, 2015. It feels like forever ago. Robison, throughout that entire time, never once gave OU fans a reason to believe he was headed elsewhere. He attended every single OU home game as a junior and as a senior. He became entrenched with the program and its recruiting efforts. The bond with Lincoln Riley is a deep one, and he’s ready to get started in Norman.
New Braunfels (Texas) Canyon K/P Reeves Mundschau
The story: Among the quietest recruits you’ll ever find. And that’s OK. Nobody really knew OU was pursuing a kicker/punter for the 2017 class until Mundschau announced to the world he was committed to the Sooners. Since then, no reason to worry and Mundschau was perfect on his extra points and field goals as a senior. Austin Seibert has done a lot of lifting for the Sooners as kickoff, field goal kicker and punter, perhaps Mundschau can give him a breather.
