RECRUITING: Florida DT says Sooners lead

Oklahoma ties could help sway Deerfield Beach, Fla. defensive end Emmanuel Dunbar to Norman.

JH: Have you started your season yet?

ED: "We played a preseason game and we won easily 35-13. They only scored when they had their first team going against our second team. I played pretty well as I had four sacks and seven tackles. I am glad that I was able to get started that way. We play our first game tomorrow against Ft. Lauderdale McArthur and I hope to play even better. I think we can handle them pretty well and I think it is going to be a stat game."

JH: What do you think of all the attention that you have been getting from the national media?

ED: "It is kind of overwhelming, but I love it. It just shows all my hard work is paying off. I found it hard to believe at first that people thought so many good things about me. The press has been fine to deal with and I am learning more about the process every day."

JH: Now that coaches can start calling again, what coaches have you heard from?

ED: "I have talked to Coach Shipp form Oklahoma, a coach from Boston College, the Defensive Coordinator from Miami and a coach from Virginia Tech."

JH: Have they all had a lot to say?

ED: "I really am not home a lot so I haven't had a chance to talk to all of them. I get their messages, but I miss out on actually talking to them. I did get to talk to Coach Shipp and he is a pretty nice guy."

JH: Do you have a favorite school right now?

ED: "I am really into Oklahoma right now. Every time I talk to Coach Shipp I like Oklahoma more and more. I went on the internet the other day and I was looking at their stats and I was learning more about their college. I also got hold of Davin Joseph, who I played against when I was in the ninth grade. We have become friends and he was telling me about all the great things about the OU program."

JH: What other schools do you like at this time?

ED: "I also like Boston College, South Florida, Ohio State, North Carolina State and Georgia. However, Oklahoma is easily my favorite right now."
