OU & Scout300: Scout 101-200 trends

Evaluating where OU stands with Scout 101-200 prospects for 2018.

How will Oklahoma build off its 2017 class is a major question. SoonerSquad17 finished No. 6 in Scout’s rankings, but now the page turns to 2018.

The Sooners have three commits with two of them in the Scout 100. Who are some of the other targets? Where does OU stand with them?

An early look at the 38 names of interest in the eyes of Sooners Illustrated for OU’s #SavageTeam2K18 class.

Again, pure opinion. Some offers aren’t listed on here. Some prospects don’t have offers but are listed. By no means an official look.

Fresno (Calif.) Edison S Steve Stephens

Trending Down

Going to say down, but maybe it’s more unknown. With Chip Viney now at Nevada, how will OU fare with those Tony Perry guys who cultivated great bonds with Viney?

Moore (Okla.) Southmoore QB Casey Thompson

Trending Sideways

One of the more curious cases to watch. Thompson continues to have a lot of steady contact with the Sooners, but hard to see OU taking two with Thompson and Rising.

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy WR Joshua Moore

Trending Down

Twin brother, Jordan Moore, is already committed to Texas A&M, but Joshua is leaving Texas for IMG. A sign the brothers will play elsewhere?

Dallas Carter DE Jarell Cherry

Trending Up

Cherry is coming off a great trip to OU for junior day, and you have to like what Calvin Thibodeaux is starting to do for this class.

Arlington (Texas) Lamar DT Bobby Brown

Trending Up

Brown has been a major favorite for Thibodeaux for a while when it comes to this class. OU didn’t fare well at Arlington Lamar in 2016, but this one is looking good.

St. Louis Lutheran North DE Ronnie Perkins

Trending Up

Again, a lot of talent in Missouri for the 2018 class should mean good things for Sooners. Thibodeaux has made it clear that Perkins is a major name to watch.

Dallas Bishop Dunne DT Calvin Avery

Trending Up

Seriously, could have your defensive tackles in back-to-back spots here with Brown and Avery. OU seems like leader in clubhouse right now.

Tulsa (Okla.) Union WR C.J. Moore

Trending Down

As more and more schools offer but OU doesn’t, not a great look here.

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy OG Curtis Dunlap

Trending Up

OU has long been one of Dunlap’s favorites, and now with T.J. Pledger and Joshua Moore transferring there, even more reason for OU to stop on by.

Charlotte (N.C.) West Mecklenburg WR Dyami Brown

Trending Up

Maybe jumping the gun here, but an OU offer in North Carolina is starting to really resonate here lately based off the 2016, 2017 classes. Brown could be the next one.

OKC Putnam City DE Ron Tatum

Trending Up

Give credit to Thibodeaux for making this offer back in October. High profile schools are throwing their hat in the ring, but the Sooners were already there.
