OU with no answers in Ames

OU has lost seven games in a row for the second time this season after an 80-64 loss to Iowa State.

Oklahoma head coach Lon Kruger was searching for anything, for some sort of spark to get the Sooners going.

It worked for a bit, but as has been the case throughout this season, the Sooners couldn’t sustain it in an 80-64 loss to Iowa State on Saturday evening in Ames.

OU has leaned heavily on freshman guard Kameron McGusty throughout conference play, but to start the second half, Kruger went with Darrion Strong-Moore along with Jordan Woodard.

It worked as OU erased a nine-point halftime deficit only to see the Cyclones make the adjustment and OU fall apart in the final 15 minutes.

McGusty did come into the game and scored a team-high 13 points to continue his streak of scoring double figures.

Rashard Odomes added 11 points, while Khadeem Lattin was his consistent self with seven points, 12 rebounds and three blocks.

OU has now lost seven in a row for the second time this season and has lost 14 of its last 16 games. The Sooners are now 8-16 overall and 2-10 in the Big 12.
