Oklahoma needed some good news on the recruiting trail after the last week. And defensive backs coach Kerry Cooks has been someone who can deliver.
He did again. Deerfield Beach (Fla.) High cornerback Miguel Edwards tweeted he has committed to OU on Friday during his unofficial visit to Norman.
Edwards, a high three-star prospect, had offers from all over the Southeast part of the country but had made it clear earlier this month the work Cooks had put in was paying off.
There was a feeling that as long as Edwards arrived on campus this weekend, the Sooners were finally going to add once again to #SavageTeam2K18.
It was a rough week in terms of seeing a flipped commitment, two decommits from the 2019 class and a top in-state target commit to Texas, but the Sooners knew good news was coming.
“We have Miguel Edwards. It’s just a matter of time,” said Tulsa (Okla.) Union defensive back and OU commit Patrick Fields. “He’s going to be a big-time addition.”
Edwards is one of three defensive backs for OU’s class, joining Fields and Lancaster (Texas) High defensive back Jordon Austin.
OU is back to six commits for #ST2K18 and will be hoping for more good news in the upcoming days and weeks as the spring evaluation period has officially arrived.
