RECRUITING: Texas DB says OU close to offering

Marlin, Texas defensive back D'Nerian Wrighter has over 25 offers and could visit Norman soon.

JH: How is your season going at this point?

DW: "We have started 0-2. We have lost two close games. Right now our problem is that we are injured and lack experience in the offense line."

JH: How is the season going for you?

DW: "Things are going real well for me. I have played safety in the first two games because I have a mild ankle sprain. As soon as that heals I will be our quarterback. In the two games I have made 25 tackles and I already have three interceptions on the year."

JH: How many schools have offered you?

DW: "I have been offered by about 25 schools."

JH: Do you have a favorite?

DW: "I really don't have a favorite at this point. I am very interested in Oklahoma. I guess I like Oklahoma, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Florida and TCU. OU hasn't offered me yet, but I think they are close."

JH: What is it about Oklahoma that you like?

DW: "I love their style of defense and the way their safeties play. OU is very aggressive with their safeties and they have a lot to do with their defense. OU has their safeties always so involved in their defense."

JH: Are you coming up to the OU/UCLA game on Saturday?

DW: "I won't be able to make it up this Saturday, but I was talking to Coach (Brent) Venables and I promised him that I would make it up to at least one game."
