RECRUITING: Top RB says he could help OU

America's top-ranked high school running back talks about his interest in OU and his trip to Norman for the UCLA game.

JH: What did you think of your unofficial visit to OU?

AD: "I enjoyed it a lot. I felt comfortable up there. I enjoyed the players that I met and the game was fantastic. I enjoyed the coaches that I met and I think I can go up and help the team out a little more right now."

JH: A lot of fans that went to the game said that they said hi to you and talked to you. How does that make you feel that the fans at OU knew who you were?

AD: "It made me feel pretty good. Many fans said hi to me or just tried to talk to me, and that makes me feel very comfortable about OU."

JH: What did you think of OU's offense?

AD: "I feel like they have good running backs, but I feel I am the kind of running back that could stay in the game all four downs. I like how OU is trying to run the ball. The line up in the I-formation and they have a great fullback in that formation. I also like the one back and things they try to do in that formation. Their offensive line does a good job too."

JH: Your mom was with you, so how did she like OU?

AD: "My mom said that she liked it, but to be honest I just made it home. I spent the night there in Norman and my mom came back home last night. I stayed with Lynn McGruder, who plays on the team. He is from my hometown and it was great to catch up with him. He is a lot bigger and he played well in the game. I just go home a few minutes a go and I haven't really had much of a chance to sit down and talk to her."

JH: Now that you have visited OU unofficially for the fourth time and been to a game, where would you say OU stands in your recruiting right now?

AD: "I would say that Oklahoma is at the top of my list right now. There is just something about OU right now that is very appealing to me. Sure, OU wins, but it is the athletes on the team. They have great athletes and they are playing up to the best of their ability. The players seem to get the most out of their ability at OU. Let's just say when you compare them to Texas, well, OU wins every year. I know that OU doesn't win all of their games every year, but they also beat Texas. I think one of the reasons why is that OU plays more physical than Texas. To be honest with you, the athletes are certainly getting the most of their abilities at OU. 'Bobo' (McGruder) also told me that the players love playing for Coach (Bob) Stoops and the love playing at OU. Recruiting is not as fun...

(And then Adrian had to go, because the OU coaches had called in.)
