RECRUITING: Florida LB has OU among final four

Coveted Florida linebacker Keith Rivers talks about his high school season, OU and his final four.

JH: How is your season going?

KR: "We are not doing to well right now. We are 1-2 on the year and we have lost a couple of tough games. Both games were within a touchdown."

JH: How are you doing individually?

KR: "I am not playing to bad. I already have 50 tackles, one sack, two fumble recoveries and one punt blocked one defense. At fullback I am playing mostly on short yardage and I have scored three touchdowns."

JH: Didn't you play running back last year?

KR: "I played tight end last year."

JH: Many rank you the top linebacker in the country, so do you draw any special attention from your opponents?

KR: "They really don't do anything different against me. They are playing me pretty much the same as last year. Maybe I get doubled teamed a little more, but not really anything different than before. Teams play pretty hard against me, but that has always been the case. I have been pretty well-known around here since my sophomore year."

JH: Have you taken any unofficial visits?

KR: "I went the Florida-Tennessee game. It was a pretty good game. I thought the atmosphere was great, but I was pretty tired because I had a game on Friday night we left right after that game to get to the Florida."

JH: Have you set any visits?

KR: "No, I haven't."

JH: For a long time you have kept your options open, but have you narrowed down your choices at this time?

KR: "I like USC, Oklahoma, Florida and Florida State. I feel these schools are the best schools for me and I think all of them are great schools."

JH: When do you think you will visit OU and what do you like about the Sooners?

KR: "I am not to sure when I will visit OU, but I know that I will visit OU. I like their great tradition and their recent great tradition at linebacker. Rocky Calmus, Teddy Lehman and Lance Mitchell before he got hurt were all great players at OU before they got hurt. Then you have Coach Stoops, his brother Mike and Brent Venables, who put together a great defense out there. I really like their scheme and how they get after it at linebacker."
