Recruiting: Miami lineman interested in Sooners

Miami, Fla. offensive lineman Terrell McGill likes Oklahoma, but are the Sooners in his top five?

McGill is one those offensive line prospects that seem to grow on you. A 3-year starter, McGill has played guard, tackle and defensive end. However, McGill says for the college game he will be an offensive tackle.

"I like being on the quarterback's blindside, because it is more responsibility," said McGill. "If I don't do my job then my quarterback won't last long."

McGill can bench 325 pounds and squats 550. McGill went to the Michigan State summer camp and won all-camper honors. Norman is 2-2 thus far this season and McGill has performed well.

"I have played pretty well, but I need to work a little bit harder," said McGill. "I am grading out at 90 percent, which isn't bad, but I need to get 100."

McGill pulls a lot from offensive tackle and he is outstanding blocking downfield for screens. McGill also works at center in practice and he may play some center the rest of the year. McGill has offers from over 15 schools.

"Right now my top five are Miami, LSU, Michigan State, West Virginia and North Carolina State," said McGill.

"I still like Oklahoma, but they haven't been as aggressive as some schools. Florida, Kentucky, Iowa State, Iowa and Rutgers have also offered."

McGill wasn't a big fan of college football growing up spending most of his attention on the pros. McGill will start taking his test in October.
