HERMAN JOHNSON, OL, 6-6, 5.05, DENTON, TEXAS (DENTON HS):
JH: How is your season going?
HJ: "Right now we are 4-0. The season has been going pretty well. We are looking forward to our game Friday night against Denton Ryan. That is a very big rivalry game for us. Right now they lead us in the series 4-3. They have won the last three years in a row."
JH: How are you playing?
HJ: "Last week I graded out at 85 and the week before I got an 87. So, I am grading out in the high B area. My coaches say that I am playing pretty well and I am getting a lot of pancakes. I think I have 14 pancakes at this point."
JH: Since you are so well-known nationally, are teams do anything different to you on defense?
HJ: "Some people try to send a lot of people to my side hoping that I will miss somebody so that someone would run free. When they do that we have been able to handle it. No matter what kind of tricks they try on defense I have been able to control my side of the ball."
JH: Have you been to many college games this fall?
HJ: "No, not really. Unofficially, I have been to Oklahoma and Louisiana State. I watched the Oklahoma/UCLA game. I haven't seen an LSU game yet. I plan to go to one, but I am not sure which one."
JH: How is recruiting going?
HJ: "I am still considering Oklahoma and LSU, plus Texas A&M and Colorado. I have set up on official visit with Oklahoma on December 13th. I plan to take all my visits after the season."
JH: What are your feeling on Oklahoma now that you have visited unofficially during the UCLA?
HJ: "My feelings on Oklahoma are about the same. I think they were missing me a little bit, because the players and coaches had not heard from me in a while. It was great to walk into the locker room and a lot of players were calling me name and stuff. I have gotten to know some of those guys and they are great guys to hang around with."
